In my experience, people don't call after the worst night; they call after the quiet morning when they realize the worst nights have become routine. I started on the research side of this field and eventually traded spreadsheets for a chair across from real people; it was the right trade. Much of my work is with veterans, and deployment often draws a line for them between before and after. Flashbacks, restless nights, and the drinking that quiets them tend to travel together, so we work on them together. Sobriety, for many of my clients, turns out to be less about giving something up and more about getting their mornings back. My Jewish upbringing gave me an early respect for wrestling honestly with hard questions. I know plenty of men were raised to treat silence as strength; here we practice a different kind of strong. I keep things plain: no riddles, no mystique, just steady work that adds up. If your quiet morning has arrived, reach out.
