
There is a stubborn myth that therapy is only for people in crisis, and it quietly keeps a lot of good people suffering longer than they need to. I trained in community mental health before moving into private practice, and I saw there how ordinary and human it is to need help. Much of my work now is with burnout, the slow erosion that turns capable people into ghosts of themselves. When life has gone joyless, small and gray, we look for where the meaning leaked out and begin, patiently, to repair it. Mindfulness runs through everything I do, less a technique than a way of paying attention. What I offer is a nonjudgmental room where nothing you say will be too much. I know asking for help can feel like breaking an unwritten rule, and I consider it the bravest item on anyone's calendar. If the myth has kept you away, come test it against the real thing.
