One myth I would like to put down for good is that recovery means eating perfectly from now on. It does not. It means food stops running the show. Many of the people I work with binge in private and then spend the next day paying a heavy tax of shame and restriction. We interrupt that cycle by understanding it rather than fighting it, because a behavior you truly understand loses most of its grip on you. My own training happened in community clinics that served everyone who walked in, which left me with little patience for the notion that this problem belongs to only one kind of person. I am thoughtful and unhurried, more interested in the why than in any quick fix. You will not be rushed, and you will not be judged for the parts that feel ugly. If any of this fits, get in touch and we will find a starting point.
