A lot of people assume an eating disorder would be obvious, something you could spot across a crowded room. In my experience the person quietly at war with food is often the one who looks most put together. I work with adults untangling years of rules, secrecy, and self-punishment around eating. Bulimia in particular runs on a private loop of shame that convinces people the problem is theirs alone to fix. Together we slow that loop down, get honest about what the cycle has been protecting you from, and rebuild a way of eating that no longer swallows the whole day. Before private practice I spent years in nonprofit work, where I saw how rarely people get the chance to say these things aloud. Sessions with me are steady and matter-of-fact. Nothing you tell me about food will shock me, and I will never treat your worst week as the whole of you. If any of this is landing, send a note and we can begin.
