
Years in this chair have taught me that most people do not need fixing; they need help stepping out of patterns that once protected them and now just cost them. Worry is the thread running through most of my caseload, the constant background kind that outlasts even good news. My clients tend to be stretched thin, competent people who forgot they are allowed to have limits. I practice cognitive behavioral therapy because it respects both your intelligence and your time. We build concrete skills one at a time, until handling a hard moment feels less like luck and more like habit. I notice when someone needs a while to stop performing and start talking, and I give that all the time it needs. My first clinical home was a campus counseling center, where the pace made me quick at spotting what truly matters. These days I am slower, on purpose.
