
There is a particular moment I watch for, usually a few weeks in: someone repeats the thought that has frightened them most, notices they said it in a flat and ordinary voice, and stops mid-sentence, surprised by their own calm. It is a small thing and it is the clearest signal I know. That is the shift. Intrusive thoughts lose their authority not when you disprove them but when they stop being treated as emergencies. We build toward that on purpose, in small and deliberate steps, and I will tell you honestly when I think we are ready for the next one. I still think of this as a craft I am refining, which keeps me reading and keeps me humble about what I do not yet know. Progress here is rarely loud, so I make a point of naming it when it arrives.
