
The people who find me are usually the capable ones. They have kept every plate spinning for years, and lately they have begun to wonder why it all feels so hollow. Much of my practice centers on depression, especially the quiet kind that hides behind a full calendar. I also see the depleted, people who spent so long giving more than they had that nothing feels replenished anymore. Before becoming a therapist I worked in nonprofits, and those years showed me what it costs to care for a living. In our sessions we use mindfulness in a practical, unfussy way, learning to notice what is happening inside you before it swallows the whole day. I understand how many women learn to minimize their own needs. Clients tell me my presence is warm and steady, and that sessions feel less like an appointment and more like a deep breath.
