The idea I would like to dispel is that a good decision feels certain. People wait for certainty as though it were the signal that permits action, and it very rarely arrives, particularly for the decisions that matter most. What you can reasonably aim for is a decision you understand. Being at a crossroads is uncomfortable exactly because both options remain live right up to the moment you choose. The discomfort does not resolve in advance as a reward for having thought hard enough. We aim at clarity about the trade-offs instead. That is achievable and it is what actually lets people move. My route in was through nonprofit and social-work adjacent roles, where decisions were routinely made under real uncertainty with imperfect information. It taught me that waiting for certainty is itself a decision. If you have been waiting, get in touch. Understanding beats certainty, and it is actually available to you.
