You are probably here because the person you built a whole life with is turning into a stranger, and nobody warned you how disorienting that would feel. It can shake the ground under everything. Ending a marriage is not just paperwork; it is rebuilding who you are once you are no longer anyone's spouse. So much of daily life was arranged around another person that their absence shows up in small, ambushing ways. We work through those one at a time, and we keep sight of the fact that a life can be really good again on the far side of this. I arrived in this profession by a roundabout path, after years spent in a completely unrelated trade, so I never assumed I had all the answers. I am easy to talk to and hard to shock.
