Can I admit something? Even therapists find it hard to begin therapy. Sitting across from a stranger and handing them the tender truth of your life is a really brave act. My roots are in community mental health, where I learned that courage usually looks ordinary and that help should never require perfection first. Now I mostly see adults who are burned out, people whose give-it-everything finally gave out. When the world has turned joyless, I will not hand you a gratitude list; we look honestly at what your life is costing you. Mindfulness offers us a way to be with what is true without drowning in it. I am a nonbinary therapist, and I run a nonjudgmental practice in the fullest sense: whoever you are, you will not be too much here. My style is conversational, more kitchen table than lecture hall. If starting feels impossible, start small. One message is enough.
