
You are probably here because something keeps arriving in your head uninvited, and you have run out of ways to make it stop on your own. I want to open by saying that this is a solvable problem, and that you are not the exception. Intrusive thoughts are not confessions and they are not forecasts about your character. They are noise that got handed a significance it never earned. We work on how you answer that noise rather than trying to scrub it out of existence, because the scrubbing is exactly what gives it weight and keeps it loud. Years in hospital and intensive outpatient settings showed me people recovering from things they were certain were permanent, and it left me stubbornly hopeful. I do not think you are stuck.
