Our first conversation is ordinary in tone and quite practical in content. I will ask what prompted you to get in touch now, what you would like to be different, and what you have already tried, and I will not require any particular disclosure to get started. You are not obliged to explain your sexual identity to me before we can work together, and plenty of people take several sessions before that subject arrives directly. Some never frame it that way at all. What matters in the first hour is whether you feel able to speak plainly, which is something you will know quite quickly. Before this I worked in school and university counseling, where I learned to make a first meeting feel like a conversation rather than an intake procedure. That skill has stayed useful. If a plain first conversation is what you want, get in touch.
