Those who find their way to me are usually the dependable ones, the friend who answers everyone's texts and the coworker who never drops a task, all while feeling like a hollowed-out version of themselves at home. They are usually good at looking fine. Most of them would not use the word depressed out loud, at least not at first, because it feels too big for someone who still shows up to everything. So we start with smaller, truer language: the evenings that vanish, the plans quietly canceled, the meals eaten standing over the sink. My earliest work was in emergency settings, where I got comfortable staying calm while other people came apart, and I carried that steadiness into this quieter kind of work. Talking with me feels less formal than you might picture. I am curious, I am direct when it helps, and I am not going to nod along while you talk yourself into feeling worse. When you want to start, I am easy to reach and glad to answer.
