The single thing I would tell every new client is that the size of a fear says nothing about how long it takes to treat. People arrive apologizing for how irrational it sounds, as if that were a diagnostic fact. It is not. A fear of heights, for instance, can look absurd from the outside and still shape a decade of decisions about where you will go and what you will do. We take it seriously and we take it apart in order. We also agree in advance on what you are allowed to decline, which turns out to be the part that makes the rest of it possible. You set the pace, and I will not push you past what you already agreed to. I spent a stretch in nonprofit and social-work adjacent roles before this, which left me practical and fairly allergic to jargon. Expect plain language, and expect to move slower than you think you should. If you want to know whether this is fixable, ask me and I will give you an honest answer.
