In my experience, people rarely reach out when everything falls apart. They reach out when things have stayed quietly bad for so long that they stop remembering what fine felt like. If that is where you are, you are in the right place. I started my working life as a researcher and eventually admitted I wanted conversations, not spreadsheets. Many of my clients live permanently on edge, guarding against a problem that has usually already passed. Others move through dark seasons that arrive without an obvious cause and outstay every deadline they are given. My training is cognitive behavioral, and I value it because it is practical and honest about what can actually change. As a BIPOC therapist, I bring lived perspective to conversations some clients have carried alone for years. I keep things plain and human: no riddles, no lectures, no performance. Therapy here is a working conversation with a direction. If quietly bad has gone on long enough, an intro session is a simple next move.
