A moment I see fairly often, usually some months in: someone mentions in passing that something happened last week which would previously have wrecked several days, and it did not. They report it almost as an aside. It is never an aside. That is what improvement actually looks like from the inside, which is to say barely noticeable. Flashbacks and the days lost around them tend to shorten gradually rather than stopping outright, and because the change is incremental almost nobody registers it without being asked. So I ask. Keeping track is part of my job exactly because it is so easy to miss from where you are standing. My earlier working life was in an entirely different field, which perhaps explains my fondness for measuring things. Progress you cannot see is still progress. If you are further on than you feel, get in touch.
