If you're walking in feeling overwhelmed, feeling exhausted, or feeling tired in a way that sleep doesn't fix, you're not alone. A lot of what we'll do is figure out what's actually yours to carry and what isn't, and slowly let the rest go. For people who are recently widowed, or who are carrying a more recent loss, therapy can be a space where the grief gets to be exactly as big as it is. There's no timeline I'm going to impose on that. I draw on evidence-based modalities, but I'm not married to any single framework. The best therapy meets you where you are, and that means staying flexible about what tools we reach for as the work unfolds. If this is your first time in therapy, or you've been considering therapy for a while and finally feel ready, I want you to know there's no right way to do this. We'll go at your pace, and I'll explain anything that feels opaque about how the process works.
