I think of therapy as a craft, and after many years I am still refining mine, because every person who sits down requires something slightly different. Exhaustion is often the first thing my clients name, though it is rarely the whole story. Depression can wear the mask of laziness or indifference, and part of our work is calling it by its real name so it loses some of its power. Mindfulness threads through our sessions as a quiet habit of noticing, nothing fancier than that. People tend to describe the experience of working with me as warm and surprisingly unforced.
