I believe therapy works when two people are honest with each other, week after week, and not much else is required. No mystique and no jargon, just steady attention to what is actually going on in your life. I see adults whose worry has become a constant companion, and others carrying a heaviness they cannot fully explain. My approach is cognitive behavioral, which in plain terms means we figure out where your thinking and your habits keep you stuck, then change them one piece at a time. I came to this field as a client first, and I have never forgotten what it felt like to sit on the other side of the conversation. I often hear that clients wanted someone who would be straightforward with them, and that is what I work to be. Expect plain language, real questions, and no pretending. If that sounds like a relief rather than a threat, we will probably get along. Reach out whenever you are ready and we can set up a first conversation.
