
A first appointment is more ordinary than you might think. No rapid-fire questions, no clinical interrogation, just a calm conversation about what brought you in and what you want to be different. Most of my clients are adults whose overthinking has become a second job, unpaid and always hiring. Others carry stress that stopped feeling temporary a long time ago. My approach centers on thought patterns: noticing them, testing them, and loosening the ones that do not hold up. The real progress happens between sessions, so we always agree on one small experiment for the week ahead. As a Latina therapist, I care about making this room feel like it belongs to you too. And I pay attention to the moments when talking gets hard, and I slow down there. I began in university counseling centers, where I learned that the bravest thing most people do is show up the first time. I carry that respect into private practice.
