Our first conversation is calmer than most people anticipate. There is no requirement to present a coherent account, no expectation that you will be fair to anybody, and no assessment of what you should do next. You can arrive furious and leave undecided. What I will do is get clear on the timeline and on what you currently know. Infidelity is rarely a single discoverable fact, and the drip of new information is often more destabilizing than the original discovery. Establishing where you actually stand is really useful early work. I came into this through school and university counseling, where being useful within a single session was often all the time available. That discipline stayed with me.
