The first hour has no particular agenda and you can spend it however is useful. Some people arrive with a photograph. Some want to explain the medical details in sequence because nobody has let them finish. Some sit down and cannot think of anything at all to say for several minutes. All of that is workable. Losing someone leaves people with an enormous amount they need to put somewhere and very few places willing to receive it. This hour is built to receive it. There is no correct way to use the time, and I will not be steering you toward any particular subject or conclusion. I came into this work through a long, indirect route and I am not much interested in appearing expert. What I am good at is staying put while someone says difficult things. If you need an hour with no agenda attached, get in touch.
