
After years of doing this work, here is what I know: people are almost never broken in the way they believe they are. More often, an old solution has simply outlived its usefulness. Feeling anxious much of the time is often exactly that, an alarm system that never got the message that the danger has passed. Together we retrain the alarm, slowly and on purpose. Women's mental health deserves care that accounts for the roles women are asked to play, and that is the care I have built my practice around. I have played several of those roles myself. I found my way here the same way many of my clients find me: I was once the person in the other chair. That experience keeps me humble about how hard change is and certain that it is possible. If you are weighing whether to begin, I am happy to make that decision easier.
