Our first meeting is far less daunting than the word 'therapy' might lead you to expect. You will not be handed a symptom questionnaire or asked to summarize the worst thing that has happened to you in under an hour. Mostly, we talk, and you get to see whether my company actually helps. From there the work is surprisingly alive, not the gloomy slog people brace for. Yes, we make plenty of room for the sorrow, but grieving also holds unexpected things: fierce love, dark comedy, gratitude, even relief, and we welcome all of them. My hope is that you leave most hours a little lighter and a little more yourself, carrying the person you lost in a way you can actually live with. I keep my practice small on purpose, so the people I work with get real attention rather than a slot on an assembly line. That is also why I have the room to really root for you. If you are ready to stop grieving in isolation and want an ally for it, I would be glad to know who you are missing and what they meant to you.
