Therapy should not feel like another obligation on your to-do list. I strive to create sessions that feel engaging, productive, and even occasionally lighthearted. Real change happens when you feel comfortable enough to be honest, and I work hard to build that trust from our very first conversation. Humor has a place in therapy, and I am not afraid to use it. Laughter can be healing, and the ability to find lightness even in dark moments is a form of resilience. That said, I always follow your lead and hold space for whatever emotions are present. Outside of my practice, I am an avid reader, a mediocre but enthusiastic cook, and a firm believer that walks in nature solve at least half of life's problems. I share this because I think it matters that your therapist is a real person, not just a credential on a wall.
