I believe this work only functions at a pace the person in the chair controls. Therapy that pushes someone to recount more than they are ready to recount does harm, and a lot of well-intentioned practice has done exactly that over the years. So nothing here is extracted from you. Recovery from abuse does not require a full retelling, and in many cases the detailed account is the least useful part of the work. What matters more is what the experience taught you to expect from other people, and how those expectations are still operating now, decades later and largely out of view. We work on that, and we work on it slowly. Almost all my clients arrive by recommendation, which in this area I take as evidence that nobody left feeling pressured. That is the standard I hold myself to. If you have been avoiding this because you assumed you would have to tell the whole story, you would not have to.
