Let me put the important bit first: being of two minds is not weakness and it is not indecision. People expect to arrive with a clear position and are unsettled to find themselves holding two incompatible ones at once. Both can be true. Ending a marriage is rarely accompanied by certainty, and waiting for certainty before acting is how people spend a decade in a situation they have already decided about. We work with the two minds rather than trying to eliminate one of them prematurely. Clarity usually arrives during the process rather than in advance of it. My professional start was community mental health, where I met a great many people managing enormous decisions with no support whatsoever. Support changes the outcome. If you are holding two positions at once, that is workable. Nobody will be hurried toward a position here. Certainty is not the entry requirement people assume it is.
