Whoever finds their way to me is usually capable, organized, and completely thrown by a change they handled beautifully in public. They managed the logistics, reassured everybody else, and then found themselves sitting in a car park unable to explain the feeling in their chest. That delayed collapse is the most common way life transitions actually show up. The practical part gets handled first because it has deadlines, and the rest waits until there is space, which is usually months later and at an inconvenient moment. We deal with the part that waited. It is still there, and it does not dissolve on its own. Early on I was in crisis services and learned to be unhurried with people who are frightened by their own reaction. Nothing about yours will strike me as excessive.
