The first hour is deliberately undemanding and a lot more practical than people brace for. I ask how you are sleeping, what your ordinary week looks like, what you avoid without thinking about it, and what you would like to be different in six months. Notice what is not on that list. Trauma does not have to be described in order for the treatment to begin, and a first session spent entirely on sleep and daily logistics is a perfectly good first session. Some people never give me a detailed account at all and still finish the work. That is a legitimate route rather than an evasion. My caseload is deliberately small, which lets me remember what you said last time without consulting anything. Continuity matters here more than almost anywhere. If you would rather start with sleep than with history, get in touch. Sleep is a perfectly respectable place to begin.
