A recurring moment in this work: someone catches themselves saying we about a situation they left months ago, stops, corrects it, and then looks really startled by how much that small correction stung. The language updates long after the decision does. Those small corrections are the actual work. Starting over happens in hundreds of tiny administrative moments rather than in one decisive act, and the accumulation of them is what eventually makes the new arrangement feel real. We pay attention to the small ones. They are far better indicators of progress than any grand statement of intent. Research came first for me, and then the room and I retain a fondness for small observable measures over large claims. The pronouns are a better measure than the resolutions. If you are further along than it currently feels, get in touch. Progress in this area is almost always visible only in hindsight, which is why I keep notes.
