Here is the blunt version: writing to a stranger about the worst parts of yourself is a big ask. I never forget that, and I promise the second step is easier than the first. Managing anger, in my experience, is less about suppression and more about translation: the heat means something, and we can decode it together. The men I work with tend to be generous with everyone except themselves, and their anger is often disappointment wearing armor. I practice from a cognitive-behavioral foundation, identifying the automatic thoughts behind each flare-up and rebuilding them one at a time. Progress tends to show up first at home, which is exactly where my clients want it most. I'm a gender expansive therapist with roots in nonprofit work, and that background stripped the pretense out of how I practice. I'll tell it to you straight, and I'll celebrate just as loudly when the new habits start to stick. If you've read this far, some part of you is ready; let's put that part in charge.
