
There is a myth that therapy is only for the moments when everything falls apart. In my experience, it is most useful just before that, while you are still holding it all together and paying dearly for the privilege. I spent my early years in crisis services, where I learned to stay steady while everything around me was loud. These days I work with adults who are quietly burned out and unsure how they got there. The pressures of demanding jobs, aging parents, and endless obligations rarely announce themselves. They accumulate. I pay particular attention to how hard it can be to admit you are not fine. Sessions with me are thoughtful and unrushed. We will examine what your life is asking of you and whether the terms are still acceptable. You do not need a crisis to justify the hour. If this has been on your mind, that is reason enough to write.
