
Therapy works when it changes what happens on an ordinary Tuesday, not when it produces a satisfying explanation. Explanations are cheap and I can hand you several. Systems that survive a bad week are the actual product. For ADHD that means we build things you will still use when you are tired, uninterested, and running late, because those are the conditions the system has to work in. Anything that only functions on a good day is decoration. We test, we discard what fails, and we keep what holds. We also plan for the stretch where the whole thing gets abandoned, because it will be, and that is not the end of anything. I keep a small caseload so I can remember the details of your week without consulting notes, which matters more here than people expect. Continuity is part of the treatment.
