The single thing I would tell every new client is that the difficulty is usually the interval rather than the destination. People assume they are struggling with the change itself, when in fact they are struggling with not yet being anywhere at all. Major life changes come with a gap in the middle where the old arrangement has gone and the new one has not settled, and that gap is where almost all the discomfort lives. Knowing that helps more than it sounds like it should. It converts an alarming feeling into an expected stage, and expected stages are a lot easier to sit inside than mysterious ones. Nonprofit and social-work adjacent roles came first for me, where I watched people navigate upheaval with very few resources and a lot of resourcefulness. It gave me realistic expectations. If you are in the gap, get in touch.
