A person told me last month that they had gone a whole week without checking the locks twice, and then immediately apologized for wasting session time on something so small. We spent the rest of the hour on it. Small is where this actually resolves. Trauma is dismantled through a long series of unremarkable changes rather than through any single decisive session, and the people living through it are consistently the worst placed to notice them. We keep a record exactly for that reason. Being shown the accumulated list is often more convincing than anything I could say. I have found that clients apologize for exactly the material that matters most. The locks were not a waste of the hour. If your improvements seem too small to mention, mention them anyway. Nothing about the locks was too small to matter. That is exactly the scale at which this resolves.
