A myth I keep meeting is that therapy is mostly about digging up your past until something cracks open. In practice, most of my work faces forward, toward the ordinary weeks ahead and how to make them less bleak. I focus on depression, including the flat, joyless stretches where nothing tastes like much and even good news barely registers. My aim is not to force cheerfulness but to help you locate the small footholds that pull a person back toward their own life. We look honestly at what has drained the color out and test, in small concrete steps, what adds a little back. I grew up in a household organized around looking after others, so tending to people who are hurting has never felt like unfamiliar terrain to me. I think about this work carefully and I do not offer easy answers I do not believe. What you can expect from me is genuine attention and a patient sort of honesty. If any of this resonates, I would welcome an email whenever the timing feels right.
