One moment turns up regularly: someone lists everything they have gained from a change, pauses, and then says quietly that they still want the old thing back. They usually look embarrassed. It is the most honest sentence of the hour. That contradiction is normal and almost nobody says it out loud. Major life changes can be really good and still involve real losses, and being unable to hold both at once is what keeps people stuck in a private argument with themselves. We let both be true in here. It turns out to be far easier to move forward once you stop having to justify the part that hurts. My first occupation was nothing at all like this one, so I know the peculiar feeling of missing something you were right to leave. It passes, and it is not a sign of error. If you are in that argument, bring it here.
