I believe grief therapy works when nobody is trying to hurry you toward a version of yourself that no longer exists. You do not need to be repaired. You need company that can tolerate how much this hurts. So the work stays plain. We talk about who died, what they meant, and what their absence has rearranged. We look honestly at the guilt everyone carries and nobody admits to. We figure out how to answer 'how are you doing' without lying and without falling apart in the cereal aisle. Some weeks are about the enormous feelings. Many more are about Tuesday afternoons and the empty side of the bed. I take on only a small number of clients at a time, which means you get an unhurried hour that is really your own. I will not dress this up or hand you slogans about closure, because I do not actually believe in closure. If plainspoken company is what you need right now, write to me and tell me who you lost.
