
People assume therapy is a place to feel better about your problems. I would rather help you have fewer of them. That difference matters more than it sounds. My clients are adults stuck in spiraling thoughts that can turn a Tuesday setback into a verdict on their entire life. Most are also stretched thin, saying yes out of habit and paying for it in sleep. My training is cognitive behavioral, and I hold it to a simple standard: it has to change your week, not just your hour with me. Every session ends with something actionable, agreed on together and small enough to actually happen. I am direct without being harsh, and my clients seem to value the difference. I grew up in a family where caregiving was simply what you did, and I never seriously considered other work. That history keeps me steady when the room gets heavy.
