
I am a therapist for adults who are still doing everything they are supposed to do and feeling almost nothing while they do it. That is most of my caseload, and it is deliberately a small one. Dark seasons do not always announce themselves. Plenty of people get through them with a full calendar and a good reputation, which is exactly why nobody around them thinks to ask. We start with what has quietly gone missing, in what order it went, and what it would take to get any single piece of it back. One piece is enough to begin with. The rest tends to follow once there is evidence that anything can move at all. I keep the practice small on purpose so I am not working from a script by Thursday afternoon. You will not be a slot on a calendar here. If you have been describing yourself as fine for longer than is true, come and say so.
