
Most people brace for a first session about food to feel like a weigh-in with words. Mine is closer to a long, ordinary conversation in which nothing about you gets measured or graded. You are a person here, not an intake to process. The people I sit with are usually living around an eating disorder, quietly arranging their days, friendships, and energy to keep the thing hidden and fed. We look at what the eating disorder actually does for you, not only what it costs you, because nothing shifts until that part makes sense. I started out in university counseling, where I met a lot of bright people privately convinced they were the exception. You will find me easy to talk to and hard to scandalize.
