
A client once stopped mid-sentence, went quiet, and then said, 'Huh, I have never said that out loud before.' That small pause is my favorite part of this work, because it is where things start to move. I practice harm reduction, which means we start from where you actually are instead of where a pamphlet says you should be. Ambivalence about change is normal; wanting two opposite things at once is simply what being human feels like. I do my best to make our first conversation feel less like an intake and more like a decent talk. I spent years in hospital and intensive outpatient programs before private practice, so very little rattles me. I am unfiltered in the best sense: you will always know what I actually think, in plain words. Expect honest conversation and no sermons. When you are ready, reach out and we will take it from there.
