
Here's the one thing I wish every new client knew: you are not the only one. Whatever the thought, however odd the habit, I have almost certainly sat with someone carrying the same thing. I work with adults who feel anxious more days than not, and with the rituals that grow up around fear: checking, counting, redoing, undoing. Early on we sketch a roadmap, plain enough to fit on an index card, and we update it as you change. The destination is psychological flexibility: room to feel whatever shows up and still do what matters to you. I was raised in a family where caregiving was simply what people did, so I came to this profession early and never once wanted a different one. There's no mystique in my approach, just consistent, honest effort that compounds week over week. Clients tell me the plainness itself is a relief.
