
Nobody calls me on their best day. They call after the third missed dinner, the second snapped apology, the week the inbox finally won. That call is braver than it feels, and it is usually overdue. I began my working life in research and left the lab because I wanted the person, not the p-value. Anxiety runs on predictions, and most of those predictions turn out to be wrong in ways we can demonstrate. Stress is different; sometimes the math really does not work, and we have to renegotiate the load itself. My method is cognitive-behavioral, which appeals to me because it makes testable claims and keeps us both honest. There will be homework, small and specific, because one hour a week was never going to do it alone. I say what I see; you will always know what I actually think.
