The thing I have become most certain of is that the tiredness in this area is almost never about effort. People assume they are worn out because they are not coping well, when in fact they are worn out because they have been running a continuous background process for years without a break. Hypervigilance costs an enormous amount to maintain and it does so invisibly, which is why the tiredness seems inexplicable to the person experiencing it and to everybody around them. Naming that is often the first genuine relief someone gets. It converts an apparently personal failing into a predictable consequence of a long-running load. Recommendation is how my practice filled, mostly from people who had been told for years to get more rest. Rest was never the issue. If you are inexplicably worn out, get in touch. Naming the load is usually the beginning of putting it down.
