
There is a stubborn myth that therapy means years of talking before anything changes. In my experience, feeling less on edge can begin to shift within weeks when the work is focused and honest. I trained in community mental health, where nobody had time for approaches that did not deliver, and I carried that urgency into private practice. My work is cognitive behavioral at its core, which means we treat thoughts as testable rather than automatically true. The pressures of modern life are real, so I will never pretend it is all in your head; we work on both the load and the way you carry it. Above all, you leave with skills you can use. I try to hold rigor and patience in the same hand. I will take your situation seriously and still insist, out loud, that it can improve.
