
If I could hand every new client one fact, it would be this: therapy is not an admission that something is wrong with you. It is a decision to stop carrying everything alone. I trained in community mental health before private practice, and it taught me to be useful rather than fancy. I work with adults who are burned out and done pretending otherwise. Many arrive stretched thin, holding a job, a family, and everyone else's expectations all at once. Our work together is straightforward: figure out what is draining you, what you can actually control, and what has needed saying out loud for years. As a person of color, I know some kinds of tiredness never get named at work. I also know how rarely men get asked how they are really doing. Both truths have a home in my practice.
