
There is a stubborn myth that therapy means lying on a couch for years, circling your childhood while someone nods. Good therapy can be far more focused than that, and far more useful, much sooner. I trained in community mental health, where nobody has time for approaches that do not work. A racing mind that will not switch off at night is one of the most common struggles I help with. So is the kind of low stretch where getting out of bed feels like the hardest task of the day. I practice CBT because it gives us a shared, concrete way to understand what your mind is doing and to change it. Expect me to think out loud with you rather than at you, and to tell you plainly what I am noticing and why.
