
A first hour with me is quieter and more ordinary than most people brace for. You talk, I ask questions that get more precise as we go, and nothing you describe gets treated as too strange to say out loud. By the end you will have a clear sense of whether this feels workable. I work with adults whose obsessions have quietly annexed the ordinary hours of their day. Together we look at what the fear claims it is protecting you from, then we test whether that claim holds up. The work is concrete and it moves, because endless reassurance is exactly the thing that stopped helping you a long time ago. I began in a university counseling center, where I met a great many bright people convinced they were the only one this was happening to. That impression never left me.
